What courses and events does the AkzentForum offer?

The AkzentForum offers a varied programme covering education, culture, sport and exercise. You can find the latest events on our website.

From what age can I take part in these activities?

Sports programmes are generally aimed at people aged 50 and over, whilst educational programmes are aimed at people aged 60 and over. Please refer to the details provided for each programme.

How can I register for a course or an event?

You can register online, by telephone or by email. If you have any questions, the AkzentForum team will be happy to help.

Do I have to be a member to attend a course?

No. Pro Senectute of the Two Basels is a charitable foundation and not a membership organisation. Membership is not required to take part in our programmes.

Can I join a course that’s already underway?

Yes, provided there is still a place available on the course you’re interested in. We’d be happy to advise you.

Are there any free taster or trial lessons?

Yes. A taster lesson is available for many courses.

  • Sport and exercise: If you enrol on the course, the taster lesson will be included in the course fee. If the course isn’t right for you, the taster lesson remains free of charge.
  • Education: You’ll start paying from the moment you join, following the taster lesson.
How can I find out if there are still places available on a course?

When booking online, you can see from the availability display whether there are still places available. For fully booked offers, a waiting list may be available in some cases.

Until when can I cancel my enrolment on a course free of charge?

You can cancel your booking free of charge up until the registration deadline. After that, we will have to charge you for the course or event.

Can I take lessons in advance or catch up on missed ones?

Sport and exercise: Yes, you can catch up on these sessions in advance or afterwards.
Education and culture: No, unfortunately that’s not possible.

Will I receive confirmation of the course or notification that it has been cancelled after I have registered?

After the registration deadline, you will receive either a course confirmation (invoice) or a rejection.

Which offers does the Kulturlegi apply to?

The Kulturlegi is valid for all courses and the Akzent magazine (50 per cent discount). It does
not apply to one-off events, private lessons (digital media) or the gym membership.
