The Information and Advice Centres (IBS) are your local, easily accessible point of contact for any questions relating to ageing – for older people, their relatives, as well as other interested parties and specialist organisations in the region. Pro Senectute of the Two Basels runs the IBS on behalf of the care regions in the canton of Baselland.
Advice and guidance
The focus is on personalised advice and initial guidance on all aspects of ageing. The IBS also act as a point of contact when moving into a care home: they provide organisational support for the transition and work closely with Spitex, which carries out the assessment of care needs. The IBS will show you what support options are available in your local authority area and care region, and will put you in touch with the appropriate services – for example, regarding housing for older people, support and care, relief from everyday tasks or initial financial matters.
Well connected in your region
We work closely with local authorities and the healthcare region, as well as with care homes and specialist services, and are familiar with the regional and local services available. Where more complex or in-depth issues arise, we are happy to involve the social counselling service and other specialist services provided by Pro Senectute in both Basel cantons. This ensures you receive the right support right from the start – all from a single source.
Free of charge and personalised
The advice is non-binding, confidential and free of charge. You can contact us by phone, email or in person by appointment.
