Buying a ticket or installing an app can be a major challenge for older people. The ‘Digital Café’ run by Pro Senectute in both Basel cantons offers straightforward help whilst also fostering intergenerational exchange.
At eight locations, knowledgeable young people support older people in using smartphones and tablets. They help with installing apps, finding directions, understanding chat etiquette and answering individual questions. This helps older people feel more confident in the digital world, remain independent and participate in social life.
Participation is free of charge and requires no registration.
The project is funded exclusively through donations.
